The result? Improved texture, reduced fine lines, and a radiant, youthful complexion. It's like a personalised workout for your skin!

In Bella Aesthetic Clinic Sandra will ensure you have comfortable experience, and the best part is, there's minimal downtime. Embrace the beauty of microneedling and let your skin glow with renewed vitality!

What is Microneedling
Treatments?

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that aims to rejuvenate the skin's appearance by stimulating the body's natural collagen and elastin production.

The procedure involves the use of a device equipped with fine, sterile needles that create controlled micro-injuries in the skin's surface. These tiny, controlled injuries trigger the skin's natural healing process, promoting the production of collagen and elastin, which are essential for maintaining skin firmness, elasticity, and a youthful look.

Microneedling is effective for addressing a variety of skin concerns, including

  • Wrinkles

  • Fine lines

  • Scars (including acne scars)

  • Stretch marks

  • Enlarged pores

  • Uneven skin texture

  • Hyper-pigmentation and sun damage

  • Hair loss

It can be performed on various areas of the body, and the treatment intensity can be adjusted to suit individual needs. The result is smoother, more youthful-looking skin with improved texture and tone. Microneedling is considered a safe and versatile option for skin rejuvenation, often recommended for those seeking non-surgical solutions to their aesthetic concerns.

What Happens During Microneedling
Treatment?

Microneedling treatments are administered through a series of punctures on the skin, and the procedure is typically performed by a trained healthcare professional. The specific steps for microneedling treatment sessions may vary slightly depending on the area being treated and the practitioner's technique. In Bella Aesthetic Clinic the process is as follows:

  1. Consultation: Before the microneedling treatment, you will have a consultation with a pharmacist prescriber. The primary purpose of your consultation is for you to discuss your goals, concerns, and expectations. During your consultation you will be offered a facial assessment and a medical consultation to determine if the treatment selected is an appropriate treatment option for you.

  2. Before Treatment: Drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your treatment can be beneficial. Proper hydration can improve the quality of your skin and aid in the healing process. Also on the day of your appointment, arrive with a clean face, free from makeup, lotions, or creams in the treatment areas. This ensures a clean and sterile environment for the procedure.

  3. Anaesthesia: we recommend anaesthesia or numbing agents for microneedling treatments, to minimise any possible discomfort. Please ask for assistance when you book your treatment so she can recommend a topical numbing cream  to be applied before your treatment to minimise discomfort.

  4. Preparation: Before the microneedling treatment takes place your aesthetic practitioner will identify the specific areas of your face that need to be treated differently. The area would be cleansed and/or disinfected and pre-treatment photographs will be taken.

  5. Treatment: Microneedling treatments are delivered using a specialised device with ultra-fine needles. During the treatment we gently create tiny, painless microchannels on the surface of your skin. It's not as intimidating as it sounds—think of it as your skin's personalised workout! These micro-injuries kickstart your skin's natural healing process, boosting collagen and elastin production for a plump and youthful complexion. Throughout the session, you'll feel minimal discomfort, and our team is dedicated to ensuring your comfort. As with any other medical treatment it is always desirable to treat with the lowest intensity needed to achieve desirable outcome.

  6. After Care: After the injections are complete, your practitioner will apply soothing products to enhance your glow. Avoid make-up, strenuous exercise for a day or two and refraining from rubbing or touching or massaging the treated area. Leave your worries behind and let the magic of microneedling unfold, revealing a radiant, revitalised you!

  7. Recovery: Microneedling treatments typically have minimal recovery. Most people can resume their normal activities immediately after the procedure. However, it's important to anticipate redness and swelling can be expected for a few days after treatment.

  8. Results: The effects of microneedling treatments are immediate but usually it can take up to four weeks to see the full effects. Microneedling treatment results are temporary and typically you may need regular treatments to maintain the results.

  9. Follow-Up: Depending on your individual response to microneedling treatments and the area treated, you may schedule follow-up appointments in clinic to assess the results and determine if further treatments are needed.

It's essential to choose a qualified and experienced healthcare professional for microneedling treatments to ensure the procedure is not only safe and effective but the practitioner is also trained to manage any possible complications.

Microneedling Treatment
After Care

After getting microneedling treatments, it's important to follow some aftercare guidelines to ensure the best results and minimise the risk of side effects. Here are some general aftercare tips to consider:

  1. Avoid Touching or Rubbing: After the procedure, avoid touching or rubbing the treated area for several hours to prevent any risk of irritation or infection.

  2. Stay Upright: For a few hours after the treatment, try to remain upright and avoid lying down. This can help prevent any irritation of the face.

  3. Refrain from Vigorous Exercise: Avoid vigorous exercise and heavy weight lifting for the first 24 hours after the treatment. Exercise can increase blood flow to the face and may potentially increase risk of bruising and even infection.

  4. Avoid Alcohol: It's a good idea to avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before and after your treatment, as it can increase the risk of bruising and swelling.

  5. Use Sun Protection: Protect your skin from direct sunlight and UV exposure for a few days after the treatment. This can help minimise the risk of skin damage and pigmentation changes. Remember SPF is recommended to be used 365 days in the year to protect your skin from sun damage and skin ageing.

  6. Be Gentle with Your Skin: Be gentle when washing your face, and avoid aggressive scrubbing or exfoliation for a few days after the treatment.

  7. Stay Hydrated: Drinking plenty of water can help your body process the microneedling treatment more effectively.

  8. Avoid Certain Medications and Supplements: Some medications and supplements, such as blood thinners and anti-inflammatory drugs, can increase the risk of bruising.

  9. Follow Up as Advised: Depending on your individual response to microneedling treatment a follow-up appointment may be recommended to assess the results and determine if further are needed.

  10. Patience: The full effects of microneedling treatments may take several days to become apparent, with the maximum benefit typically seen within two to four weeks. Be patient and wait for the full results to manifest.

It's important to remember that microneedling treatments are a temporary treatment, and the effects will gradually wear off over time. It is always recommended to have a course of 3-6 sessions 4 weeks apart. Some individuals will require repeat treatments to maintain the desired results.

If you experience any unusual or severe side effects after microneedling treatment, such as excessive swelling, excessive bruising, pain, loss of sensation, contact your aesthetic practitioner immediately for evaluation and guidance.

Otherwise, following these aftercare tips can help ensure a safe and successful microneedling experience.
